Festival Conference Guidelines
After careful evaluation of past conferences, Area V AGEHR has adopted the following guidelines to make your conference experience more comfortable and beneficial for all.
YOUNG RINGERS - Area V AGEHR expects that participating ringers will have completed third grade prior to attending the Area V Summer Young Ringers Conference. This conference is a two day event with a one night stay-over. The days are full and can be extremely tiring for a very young child. We know you want your ringers to gain the most from these experiences, so please consider the fact that some children are not ready for the concentration and stamina needed for this type of a conference and may not handle being away from home over night. A better choice for the younger ringer might be a local one day conference.
CHAPERONE RESPONSIBILITIES - It is extremely important to have an adequate number of reliable chaperones with your group. The purpose of the chaperone is to be with the ringers at all times, to assist them, supervise, and guide them. This can only be accomplished if they are free to devote their full attention to the ringers. Therefore, we recommend that chaperones should not bring younger non-participating children with them to the conference. Also, directors should not serve as chaperones.
NON-REGISTERED VISITORS - For the personal protection of all of our participants, Area V AGEHR cannot allow non-registered people in the ringing site, in classes, or at social functions during the conference. If a non-registered person wishes to sit in on a rehearsal or guest concert, they must first sign in at the registration desk and have the written approval of their choir's director. There will be a minimal fee required if the college/university charges AGEHR an activity fee for each person on campus. Non-registrants will be given a special name tag pass which will allow them to attend only the rehearsals and guest concert. Anyone found disrupting a rehearsal or concert will be asked to leave with no refund of fees.
SMALL NON-PARTICIPATING CHILDREN - We love small children and look forward to the time when they will be old enough to ring with us, but in the meantime we have found that small children need to be where activities are designed for their age group. With your child's best interest in mind, as well as that of paying conference registrants, Area V AGEHR discourages the attendance of non-participating children at Area V AGEHR conferences. If you find it necessary to bring small children, an adult non-registered care giver must be with the child at all times. They will not be permitted in the ringing site, the class area, or at any AGEHR social functions during the conference. They may, however, attend the final concert.
Area V AGEHR wants each ringer to have the best experience possible, and request that you adhere to these guidelines.
